Bison Legend Orange finished in third place out of 84 teams.

The Bison Legend Orange advanced to the 32-team championship bracket going 3-0 on Sunday to improve to 6-0 overall.

Hayden and Trent Hidlay, along with Trey Hartsock remained unbeaten individually as well.

Hayden picked up three more falls in 56 seconds, 2:11 and 3:25. Not to be outdone, the younger half of the Gruesome Twosome scored three pins as well – in 1:06, 3:39 and 2:51.

Hartsock had a fall in 1:10, a 5-0 decision and a forfeit.

The 32-team championship bracket starts this morning.

Eight Area Wrestlers Competing at NHSCA Duals

Eight Mifflin County grapplers are at the National High School Coaches Association Duals at Virginia Beach this weekend.

Representing Bison Legend Orange are Hayden and Trent Hidlay, along with Trey Hartsock.

Joey Taptich and Christian Fisher are with the Juniata Mat Rats and Noah Myers is on the Cosby Kids team.

On the elementary side, Colby Seiler and Lucas Sheetz represent Bison Legend Elementary Blue, while Hunter Johnson competes for Bison Legend Elementary Orange.

NHSCA Results – Local Wrestlers Only

Bison Legends Orange went 3-0 on the day with Hayden, Trent, and Trey going 3-0.

Hayden Hidlay had three falls in 13 seconds, 29 seconds and 45 seconds. Trent Hidlay scored a 3:42 fall, a forfeit victory, and a 5-2 regular decision.

Hartsock had a 14-second fall, a forfeit, and a 9-0 major decision win.

PAWF Freestyle Championship Results: Hidlay Double Qualifier for Fargo

Trent Hidlay advances to Junior Nationals in Fargo in July after finishing first in Greco and second in Freestyle at the Pennsylvania Amateur Wrestling Federation State Championship at Chambersburg High School on May 21-23.

Mifflin County wrestlers competing at the PAWF Freestyle and Greco-Roman championships were:

Junior: Trent Hidlay and Joey Taptich
Cadet: Christian Fisher
Schoolboy: Trey Kibe and Nic Allison

Hidlay defeated Eric Hong of Kiski Prep by a 5-3 score at 160. The Husky sophomore dropped a 6-2 decision to Hong in Freestyle. Allison (70) and Kibe (128) finished second in the Schoolboy freestyle division.

Allison captured Greco gold with a fall over Jason Jasionowicz, while Kibe placed fourth in Greco.
