Eight Nittany Lions Ranked in Latest Intermat Poll

Penn State, the top team in the nation, placed eight wrestlers on the latest Intermat individual rankings.

Leading the way for the Nittany Lions is Ed Ruth. The junior and 2012 NCAA champ is top-ranked at 184. Returning NCAA champion David Taylor is second at 165 behind 3x national champ Kyle Dake of Cornell.

Penn State has three wrestlers ranked third: Nico Megaludis (125), Matt Brown (174), and Quentin Wright (197). The Alton brothers, Andrew and Dylan, are rated fifth at 149 and 157 respectively. Rounding out the list is sophomore heavyweight Jimmy Lawson, who’s making his first appearance in the rankings at 15th.

The Nittany Lions (2-0, 0-0) open their Big Ten dual meet schedule against Indiana (5-2, 0-0) on Sunday, December 9.
