Four Mifflin County Wrestlers Ranked in Preseason

Four Mifflin County wrestlers made the list in the preseason ratings from Pennsylvania Wrestling Rankings.

Sophomores Hayden Hidlay and Noah Stewart are ranked sixth and 21st at 126 and 152 respectively, junior Isaac Underhill is 25th at 132, while senior Kyle Kahley is ranked 15th at 220.

Pennsylvania Wrestling Rankings lists the top 25 in each weight.

Here are the top-ranked wrestlers at each weight class in AAA:

126: Dalton Macri, Canon-McMillan, Sr.

138: Tyler Smith, Franklin Regional, Sr.
145: Solomon Chishko, Canon-McMillan, Sr.
152: Josh Shields, Franklin Regional, Jr.
160; Garrett Peppelman, Central Dauphin, Sr.
170: Chance Marsteller, Kennard-Dale, Sr.
182: Zach Zavatsky, Greater Latrobe, Sr.

For those wondering about Spencer Lee, the top-ranked ninth grader in the nation, he’s rated second at 113 behind Lizak. His team, Franklin Regional, leads all schools with seven kids ranked. Greater Latrobe is next with six.

District 7 and 3 combined have 13 of the 14 top-ranked wrestlers in the preseason rankings. District 7 has nine kids at No. 1, while District 3 has four at the top. District 11, with Lizak, is the only other district to have a wrestler ranked first.

District 6 has only 12 wrestlers ranked total with the Huskies leading the way with four. Central Mountain is next with three (Chad Reese, Gavin Caprio and Cameron Porter). Altoona’s D.J. Hollingshead, fifth at 152, is the highest ranked District 6 wrestler.
