Hidlay Into the Semifinals; Fisher Earns Second PIAA Medal

Trent Hidlay cruised in the semifinals and Christian Fisher earned his second PIAA medal in as many years on day two of the PIAA championships on Friday.

Hidlay picked up his second techncial fall of the tournament after beating Neamiah Diggs of Harrisburg by a 21-6 tech fall in 5:19 of their quarterfinal bout. Hidlay (41-0) meets Scott Joll (41-3) of Belle Vernon in the semifinals tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.

Fisher lost in the quarters by a 4-2 score to Killian Delaney of West Chester Henderson, but bounced back for a 2-0 victory over Jared Kuhns of Upper Perkiomen in the third round of consolations to earn a PIAA medal. Fisher (33-8) battles Cole Wilson (37-3) of Northeastern in the consolation quarterfinals tomorrow morning.

Freshman Trey Kibe, who had the toughest draw in the tournament, dropped a 6-2 decision to Luke Kemerer of Hempfield in the consolations and saw his season come to a close. Kibe finished his rookie campaign with a 38-8 record.
