The Mifflin County wrestling team recorded its first shutout in the school’s short history with a 78-0 drubbing of Wellsboro to open the Husky Duals on Saturday.

The Huskies (12-3) picked up bonus points in 13 of the 14 bouts, getting pins by Kyle Smith (120), Keith Corson (160), Trey Hartsock (182), Kyle Kahley (220) and Colton Craig (285). Receiving forfeits were Jonah Schultz (106), Noah Myers (113), Brandon Fultz (126), Hayden Hidlay (138), Eli Habbershon (170) and Timmy Pearce (195).

Issac Underhill picked up a major at 132, while Isaac Habbershon recorded a regular decision victory.

The feature match of the dual turned out to be a dud.

Noah Stewart, ranked 8th in the state at 152, hooked up with Brandon Owlett, 11th in the state at 152 in Class AA. Stewart dominated from the start – recording three takedowns and four sets of nearfall points for the 17-2 technical fall.

Corson set the Mifflin County school record for fastest fall – a 12 second pin over Aaron Buckwalter. The Huskies won the takedown battle 12-0.
