The Mifflin County wrestling team is ranked 25th in the preseason state Class AAA dual meet rankings by Pennsylvania Power Wrestling.

The Huskies have four wrestlers ranked individually and open up the season this morning at the Ephrata Duals. Downingtown East, who defeated Mifflin County last year at the duals, is ranked 20th.

Cumberland Valley (8th) and Central Dauphin (13th) are ranked teams the Huskies face in the Mid-Penn Commonwealth.

Franklin Regional, with seven ranked wrestlers, holds down the top spot with Parkland coming in at No. 2. Rounding out the top five are Nazareth, Boyertown and Greater Latrobe respectively.

Bethlehem Catholic, the three-time defending state champion, is back on top in the Class AA standings with six wrestlers ranked.

Boiling Springs, Brookville, Bermudian Springs and Fort LeBoeuf round out the top five.

Did you see what happened to Franklin Regional last Saturday??

  2. tim says:

They competed in the Wyoming Seminary duals and beat Johnson City, NY (ranked #12 in NY) 40-27 and Wyoming Valley West (ranked #14 in the state)to get to the final against Wyoming Seminary.

FR ranked #10 in the country lost to SEM ranked #4 in the country 60-13 and SEM scored six consecutive falls in the upper weights to end the match, five of them coming in the first period. It was a shocker.
