Mifflin County vs. Shikellamy Preview

Mifflin County, fresh off the King of the Mountain tournament, brings a 6-1 record into tonight’s dual meet with Shikellamy.

The Huskies own victories over Daniel Boone (57-9), Columbia (63-11), Ephrata (53-17), Garden Spot (52-17), Altoona (49-23), and CD East (51-15). Their lone loss came at the hands of Downingtown East, a 43-20 setback at the Ephrata Duals.

Mifflin County’s strength is in the lightweights with Daulton Wilson (106), Hayden Hidlay (113), Isaac Underhill (120), Noah Stewart (126), and Lucas Besch (132) leading the way. Hidlay placed second at KOM and Underhill was seventh.

The Huskies have made some changes in their lineup with Kyle Kahley dropping to 220 and Tre Carter moving down to 195. Caleb Rhodes will jump into the heavyweight slot starting tonight. Also, Kevin Bair has injured ribs from KOM and Timmy Pearce will replace him in the lineup at 138.

The Braves come into the match with a 3-3 mark on the season. Shikellamy owns wins over Selinsgrove (62-9), Hazelton (42-24), and Shamokin (66-9). The Braves have dropped decisions to Manheim Township (51-21), Schuylkill Valley (60-24), and Upper Dauphin (42-39).

Leading the way for Shik are returning regional qualifiers John Rohrbach (160) and Dwyane Pepper (195). Also having a solid start to the season is 106-pound freshman Nick Gittens.
