The Penn State Nittany Lions are putting together what could be one of the best recruiting classes in the history of the sport after getting a verbal commitment from Chance Marsteller, the top recruit in the nation, on Independence Day.

Marsteller, who has a career record of 125-0 at Kennard-Dale, joins No. 4 Nick Nevills (Clovis, Calif.) and No. 5 Thomas Haines (Solanco, Pa.) as elite rising seniors to commit to the Nittany Lions.

The three-time defending national champions get a wrestler who may go down as having the best high school career ever in the state of Pennsylvania. Marsteller has the potential to end up as a four-time state champion in Class AAA with an undefeated record. He can also become the fifth wrestler to win the POWERade Christmas Wrestling Tournament four times, joining soon-to-be teammates Nico Megaludis and Jimmy Gulibon with that credential.

Over the course of his career, Marsteller is a two-time Cadet National freestyle champion, a Cadet National Greco-Roman champion in 2011, a Super 32 Challenge champion in October 2011, and a FILA Cadet National freestyle champion in 2012. He projects at 165 in college.
