Penn State 5th in Intermat Preseason Rankings

Intermat just released its preseason rankings and Penn State is rated fifth in the nation to kick off the 2014-15 season.

The Nittany Lions, who have eight wrestlers making the preseason individual rankings, trail No. 1 Minnesota, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Iowa and No. 4 Cornell.

The Big Ten continues its dominance of the sport with six teams ranked in the top 10.

Below are Penn State’s individual ranked wrestlers:

125: Jordan Conaway, Jr, No. 12
133: Jimmy Gulibon, So, No. 8
141: Zain Retherford, So, No. 3
149: Zack Beitz, So, No. 18
157: Dylan Alton, Sr, No. 9
174: Matt Brown, Sr. No. 3
197: Morgan McIntosh, Jr, No. 4
Hwt: Jon Gingrich, Sr, No. 7
(Redshirt freshmen Garrett Hammond at 165 and Matt McCutcheon at 184 are unranked)
