Penn State Recruits Go 3-0 at Dapper Dan; PA Comes Up Short

Three soon to be Penn State Nittany Lions went 3-0 at the Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic Sunday evening in Pittsburgh as Team USA defeated Pennsylvania 25-16.

At 145, three-time PIAA champion Jason Nolf (Kittanning) defeated Tyler Berger (Oregon) by an 8-5 score. At 170, Bo Nickal (Texas) handled Steven Loiseau, 2014 PIAA champ from Lancaster Catholic, 14-9.

In the battle of two four-time state champions at 285, Nick Nevills (California) defeated Thomas Haines, a former Penn State recruit who had his scholarship withdrawn by the Nittany Lions, by a 5-3 score.

Dalton Macri (Canon-McMillan) was voted OW of the Pennsylvania team, while Stevan Micic (Illinois) was OW for Team USA.

In the preliminary match, Team Oklahoma defeated the WPIAL 37-10.
