PIAA Predictions 2014

| March 4, 2014 | 1 Comment

Back when I wrote for the Lewistown Sentinel, many moons ago, I used to write a weekly wrestling column called Off the Mat.

One of my most popular columns was my predictions for states. Some people would agree, most would think I was crazy, but it was a lot of fun to write.

I decided to bring that back to this site and last year I was 33-5 (11-3 in AAA, 12-2 in AA). No too shabby.

Below are my predictions for states. Let me know if you agree or disagree and don’t forget to make your own predictions by leaving a comment. Let me see who you think will be at the top of the podium on Saturday.

  1. Your picks are good. I agree with all but one. I think Cameron Coy will beat Tyler Smith in the 132lb class. He did it last week in the southwest aaa regionals and I think he will be able to do it again this week! Coy is only a freshman, and this may be a disadvantage for him but I think he can pull it off. Like you, I hope Hayden will come up with the win against Kemerer. I really think Hayden can beat this kid and I won’t be surprised if he does. Iwould love to see Hayden wrestle Joesph(pitt cent cath) in the finals. Joesph would have to upset Duggan, and I think this is possible. Never the less I wish all the Huskies luck this week and hope all of them hit the medal stand.
