Three Huskies in Latest PA Power Rankings

Three Mifflin County wrestlers find themselves in the latest PA Power Wrestling individual state AAA rankings.

Sophomore Hayden Hidlay (29-2) leads the way with a No. 5 ranking at 138. Fellow sophomore Noah Stewart (28-6) is eighth at 152 and senior Timmy Pearce (26-7) is 25th at 195.

Troy Hartsock (24-10 at 182), also a sophomore, was state ranked but fell out after a loss to Central Mountain’s Chad Caprio at the District 6 Duals.

Below are the top ranked wrestlers in each weight class:

120: Luke Pletcher, 10th, Greater Latrobe
126: Dalton Macri, 12th, Canon-McMillan
132: Tyler Smith, 12th, Franklin Regional
138: Michael Kemerer. 11th, Franklin Regional
145: Solomon Chishko, 12th, Canon-McMillan
152: T.C. Warner, 12th, Cumberland Valley
160: Garrett Peppelman, 12th, Central Dauphin
170: Chance Marsteller, 12th, Kennard-Dale
182: Zach Zavatsky, 12th, Greater Latrobe
195: Tom Sleigh, 12th, DuBois
220: Jordon Wood, 10th, Boyertown
285: Thomas Haines, 12th, Solanco

For those not counting, District 7 (8) and District 3 (4) combined have 12 of the 14 No. 1 ranked wrestlers. District 1 (Wood) and District 9 (Sleigh) have one each.

In addition to the Huskies, District 6 has 12 other grapplers ranked in the top 25 of their respective weights for a grand total of 15 out of a possible 350 kids. Not good at all for a once proud and dominating district.

Johnstown and Bald Eagle Area have none. Can you believe how far the Eagles have fallen? Unreal.

Finally, with the PIAA Duals kicking off tonight, Franklin Regional sets firmly atop the Class AAA team rankings, followed by Boyertown, Cumberland Valley, Nazareth and Parkland. Rounding out the top 10 are North Allegheny, Greater Latrobe, Canon-McMillan, Spring-Ford and Erie McDowell.

The only ranked D6-AAA team is Central Mountain at No. 20.
